August Bank Holiday Weekend
Watlington Climate Action Group is proud to be collaborating with Watlington Artists to create a Green Plan Art Trail this August Bank Holiday weekend. The art trail will consist of activities, information, and art installations, all related to the Green Plan projects, which aim to protect the precious habitats around Watlington for their ability to sequester carbon, and to protect and enhance biodiversity.
"Many of our artists are passionate about the environment and we try to do whatever we can locally to help mitigate the negative impact of development and habitat destruction", writes Jaine McCormack, of Watlington Artists.
Look out for ideas and information about Wildlife Gardening, Woodlands, Chalk Streams, Hedgerows, Road Verges amongst others – and more importantly ways in which you can help or get involved.
We hope to involve other groups in creating the trail including the WI, young people, and some local students over the summer too.
The trail will run from The Methodist Chapel to St Leonards, where the Friends of the Church will also be holding a fundraising exhibition – so expect a few surprises!
